Ebay Find - What is it?

Hi,

I just picked this up from ebay for the princely sum of $17aud inc post.

I was attracted to it because of it's case, and I liked the look of it, but I have no idea what it is!

The included blade is labeled "best British" with a registration number of 32561 Aust / NZ

and on the back of the boxis the following markings:

Pat
106388
120107

Any ideas as to what I have here?
Or how old?
I'll be using it as my travel / away from home razor (fatboy is my weapon of choice at home)

I just shaved with the razor, my first time with an open comb. Wow. This one puts the fatboy to shame!

I feel a case of RAD coming on! shhh dont tell SWMBO! lol

ok, I just got my hands on a gillette old type.

I put the two heads side by side, and if the old didnt have the stamping on it, I wouldnt be able to tell the difference!

Is it possible that it is a gillette razor, without markings?

Every razor that I have ever seen made by Gillette is marked. The only reason they made razors was to create a market for Gillette blades, you know!

Gillette did get into the "Brand X" razor blade business a few times in an effort to re-capture whatever segment of that low-priced market they could, but the razors were proudly marked with the Gillette logo.

There were many Gillette "copycats" produced right around the time that the original patents were expiring. As you have discovered first-hand, the copies can be capable shavers.

I'm fairly sure that if I am not correct that Achim will be joining in any time now to educate us!! :thumbup1:

Gillette Double Rings, early Single Rings and most ABC razor heads were not marked. But I don't think this is a Gillette razor.
