Ebay Auction

Just won a red tip super speed. As I was waiting to snipe, the question occurred to me, where does everyone find these razors? I went to an antique store in Fort Worth, and found most of the razors to be overpriced for the quality/condition. I just won the auction at $18.50 for what should be a nice razor based on the photos. At the antique store, they had razors that I would NEVER shave with priced as high as $30.00. Do you think most of these ebay sellers go to estate sales?

I believe the estate buyer network is organized enough that certain dealers are noted to specialize in specific areas.

They need not attend every estate sale themselves, but through their network of associates and colleagues and friends, the Tiffany lamps all go in one direction, while someone else picks up the antique books, and a third wants the sports memorabilia.

So when any vintage razor becomes available, they just set it aside and know that "The Razor Guy" will be around to pick it up next week.

So then "Razor Guy" looks over what came, and either buys it outright, or else offers trades of old watches, silverware, postcards, or whatever else he may have collected in the meantime.

David is mostly right. However when a razor falls into the hands of the antique plate expert and put up for sale on the bay, that's when a Tech or Super Speed becomes a Fat Boy.
