eBarbershop Rope on a Soap review: now THAT'S ROPE. on a really nice soap

This is a blast from the past, reinvigorated, and a great gift: eBarbershop Rope on a Soap.

I remember as a little kid when my father introduced me simultaneously to the twin ideas of showering (very adult, sophisticated, kinda potentially cool, took some special skills development, like keeping shampoo out of my eyes, cleaning my own body, methodically no less, and not slipping and falling as I reached for the soap...) and soap on a rope! Now that was cool -- it smelled cool, very adult and sophisticated, and it was on a rope, so you could hang it off your wrist or somewhere easy to grab, without having to grope around -- how cool was that?!

What's even cooler about eBarbershop's Rope on a Soap is that the rope isn't just a stringy rope like when I was a kid, but actual, thick, silky, nautical nylon (or similar soft, plush, waterproof synthetic) rope, and you can knot it around the soap in at least three configurations -- hours of bathing-rope fun for cowboys, sailors, scouts, B&D enthusiasts, etc. Also great for outdoor showers, camping, the gym (where you may not want to put your soap in that dish), etc. Still smells of sophisticated and adult sandalwood (they also offer almond). Makes a good shampoo bar, for that matter. And the ingredients are classic: natural stuff you not only recognize but even know what it is, not some patent-pending franken-molecular future-superfund-carcinogen from a too-big-to-jail multinational chemical corp. It comes in a sleek metal resealable airtight tin (For camping, I could imagine this soap could make a decent shaving soap, and the tin a shaving-bowl).

And, the rope is really cool.

I can just see myself carving holes in all my soap bars in the future, just so I can use the rope.

Great gift. My uncle loved it for his birthday. Now that I'm an adult, I think I'll get one for dad, to return the gift.
