E4 Fat Boy question

A little over a week ago I picked up a very nice Fat Boy marked "E4". What year is an E4? The 4 means it was made in the 4th quarter right?

I realize I could Google this, but why not ask the wonderful folks at B&B right?!

Also, I read somewhere that E4s are some of the best made, is this true?
