Good evening, Gents. I recently acquired a beautiful Dunhill Collector and have been looking to add another Dunhill to my collection. My local shop recently acquired an unsmoked Dunhill ODB. I have never heard of this Dunhill designation. Can someone educate me on this Dunhill designation? I love getting historical information on estate pipes.

The only thing that comes to mind for ODB is Old Dirty Bastard, rest his soul. Regardless if you like it, get it. I can’t tell you how many pipes I wished I just bought.
So SP claimed ODB usually denotes larger pipes.
Never heard of an ODB but ODA‘s are super collectibles (OD = own/other design) so non-standard stuff from the catalogue.
Per Pipedia, from 1950 through 1952 effectively all of the new ‘800 series’ semi-giant ODs were smooth finished. Due to the high cost of briar, they were graded ODB. Beginning in 1953, smooth finished semi-giant ODBs were downgraded to ODAs.
