Dueling Lilacs

I have noted something very interesting while pursuing The Vermont Country Store website.

There is a case of "Dueling Lilacs."

There is not one but two Lilac Veg products on the site.

Two you ask? How can this be?

Well before you judge, lets take a look at the contenders!

1. Both products have overviews touting claims of being a barbershop staple.
2. Both products have varying details including, origin of manufacturing, shelf life, ingredients, features (yes features), care instructions, and most importantly safety warnings!
3. Both products display units of measure and price.
4. Both products feature customer testimonials.
5. Both products are displayed so you can see them in all their splendor.

So take a close look at each and you be the judge of which Veg is the Real Veg!

Pinaud is the brand most are referring to. Master makes a decent Bay Rum, but I have never tried the master Veg!!!

Stephen's also makes a Lilac--comes in a luminous lavender color. I haven't tried it yet, but I have smelled it out of the bottle. Not veggie at all--a straight lilac. I'm probably going to grab a couple bottles of Stephen's next time I'm at the store, so I'll put a Lilac in the basket too.

I can and have gotten both AS locally.

The Master product is basically just lilac.

By the way, did you folks notice the price they were charging for both products.

$15 for the Lilac Vegetal and $12 for the Master Lilac!

Pricing is double what most places charge, I'll stick with Pinaud; can get it for 6 or 7 dollars locally

That is the first time I have heard that word used in conjunction with the Veg!

Well there seems to be an additional contender to the fray.

Actually, the dispute should be between Masters and Stephan.
Masters has the name Vegetol, but it is in name only.
Masters and Stephan are both Lilac AS to be sure.

Pinaud has that bold earthy tone that makes it stand out from the others, and that is meant in a good way.

A comparison would be that Crest and Colgate come in a "mint" version, and you could argue which is better - but neither could be compared to
