Dubl Duck Lifetime

I have a Dubl Duck Lifetime in good condition. Does anyone know what it is worth? It belonged to my Grandmother and I recently got it from my father.

I believe with a query like that it is likely that you'll be pleasantly shocked by an auction's outcome.

The time's ripe for you to list it.

I will post pics tomorrow. This razor has the grim reaper on it. Thanks for the replies.

Hey Randy,

Don't be in too big a rush to sell it. Why not use it? Pretty cool to enjoy some of your grandparents' history, no?

Straight razors can last for generations. You can pass it on to your kids.

Reapers in good condition are worth several hundred dollars. I think the least I've seen them go for was well over $300, and I've seen upwards of $600-700. They're one of the "crazy" razors on eBay. There's one on right now that seller wants $400 for, but the scales are ruined. Even so, he might get it sooner or later. More likely he'll drop the price until one of the handymen we've got here buys it, removes the bolsters and inlays and crafts custom scales for it.

The Reapers always get a lot of attention on eBay, but in the end, the selling price is going to come down to the condition, plain and simple.

What do the scales look like on yours -- straight and pretty, or warped and useless? How about the blade? Shiny-fresh, or rusted mess?

I agree with Retro, however. You can always buy or sell another razor that comes from some other source, but something that was actually used by a grandparent will only be meaningful to you. Why sell it to some stranger? I guess what I'm saying is that I would trade the most desirable, expensive, custom razor in my collection for even some piece of junk that was my grandfather's daily razor. Just think about it before you sell it, bro.

I do not plan on selling this thing, just interested in its value. I never sell anything that was given to me. The scales are not perfect, but they can still be used. The blade is also in decent shape.

How do I put up an image?

Just to clarify on why it was my Grandmother's razor. she was a barber back when they could give real shaves in their shop.

I have no interest in owning one as they do not appeal to me.... I am in the minority in that conclusion. IF... it were in my possession and it was NOT a true family heirloom, I would send it to a quality razor restore maven... have that person put it in showroom condition, and then take a dozen QUALITY digital photos of it... Describe it as coming from your Grandmother's shop... disclose the professional "refreshing" of the blade and original scales, list it on eBay with a starting bid of 1 cent/NO Reserve, and let her rip.

Greetings from a fellow (well, former) Arkansan! You are a lucky man... keep it in the family! :thumbup1:

If you need the money very badly, put it on eBay, but I would sell it on another forum only because you could get the same price without paying the fees. Its up to you of course, but personally I wouldn't sell it. I have had to sell almost all of my favorites due to some hardship ( and I have sold some nice razors that were not favorites), and I regret having to sell them now.
