Dropped My 6/8 Aust on the floor after shave this morning

Without pix, all anyone can do is guess.
Many times, very minor distractions can be 'stropped out' - so that's first. After a good session linen/leather check to see if there are any 'waves' or whatever present. Sometimes, you can get lucky with these situations. Since you didn't chip the edge, you have - at least - had 'some' luck here. A good sign.
Because you don't have experience with this, one method of 'fixing' whatever issues are present, while learning, would be to start on your finisher to see if that corrects the rest of the issues. If not, move to 8k, then finisher, and inspect. If you still have waves, try 5k, 8k, finisher. And so on. By working backwards you can get a sense of what you are capable of doing with the stones you own. Sussing out a problem with an unknown depth of severity requires some skill which is only available via experience/practice/trial-error.
There's nothing wrong with sending it out, but since you already have the stones and have been using them, it just seems like this is a good opportunity to advance your skill-set and knowledge base. Dark cloud / silver lining kinda thing.
