DR Harris?

DR Harris as a whole has always flown under my radar, however, when looking at some reviews of some comparisons to some GFT, not only did DR Harris win but the results weren't even close. Are their soaps really that good? Do they have a few "Must Try" soaps?

Arlington and Marlboro are must try soaps.

I am sure others will add their faves to those two

I probably in in the minority here but I didn't care for the scent of Arlington and Marlborough (based off the creams). The scents were very "old school" and I personally preferred the more "modern" scents of GFT.

I would characterize DR Harris as "must try" and I would say they rank up there with the best. They are tallow-based. Personally, I like the Windsor soap as I'm a fan of the Terre d'Hermes scent profile.

I haven't tried any GFT stuff yet except for the Limes Skin Food, but I have Arlington soap and it's nice, but I won't be ordering another. I don't think the scent is all that great and the performance is very good, but I wasn't blown away. I'm currently trying some samples from Barrister & Mann and liking those more.

The DRH soaps give a great thick creamy style lather, much along the lines of MWF, just a different sent, and minus the lanolin that burns my face. If you liked the lather from The Fat, but not the scent, or want it in a different scent, or are sensitive to lanolin, DRH is a great choice to pick up a puck of.

Reposted OP for those of us that have difficulty reading peculiar fonts and colors.

DRH soaps are fantastic! I'd rate Windsor and Arlington both as must tries.

I have an older (when they were good) puck of GFT and consider Harris the best. My Harris order of preference is:

Almond
Lavender
Windsor
Arlington
Marlborough

Harris Arlington and Windsor are what I consider "must-try" soaps. I also own the Lavender and like it as well.

I bought DR Harris Marlborough for my birthday last year. It was a bench mark soap for performance and scent! Definitely a must try.

I've tried them all except the lavender. They perform the same for me except the Almond seems slightly behind the others. Harris is my overall favorite soap. Every time I use it I wonder why I bother with anything else. Edit: I see you were asking about soap versus cream. They're both good but I prefer the soap.
Is there a performance difference between their soaps and creams?

I have Windsor and consider it to be a great soap. Next one I get from DRH will be the Arlington (Father's Day, I'll use any excuse).

Yeah! Another Almond fan!

They are traditional scents, not bowl you over kinds of smells, but I like them. Performance is excellent.

Can anyone describe the scent of Windsor for me? I have Arlington and I like it but he many DR Harris threads have me thinking Windsor would be a soap I would enjoy as well.
