Doreo or Dorco - Mystery blades

I just received some of these Doreo blades today with a razor I bought off of Amazon. I thought they were Dorco at first and decided to try one out since I've never used a Dorco blade before. To my surprise, I really like it! So I decided to look for more and when I took a closer look I discovered that they weren't Dorco, but the knockoff Doreo.
I'm very disappointed in this, because I can't find more to buy since I like them, knockoffs or not!

No, but I'm sure that you're right and I'd find them there, but I'd rather go without than purchase anything from that site. My luck I'd get knockoffs of the knockoffs that end up being the lesser quality legit Dorco blades! There's plenty of other fantastic blade that are easily available to purchase from more reputable suppliers websites.

Hi Guys, I just landed here because I was curious (DORCO .VS. DOREO) and Google sent me here.
So I joined up and will be reading many other threads here at (B&B).

<<Note: Below the use the term Cheap (& Cheaper) is intended to relate to cost only, and not to quality. >>

I personally avoid any Rebranded or "no-name brands" of blades because you never know what you are going to get.
Looking to earlier posts in this thread, I found 3 with great pictures by stoof2010 dated Sep 24 2020:
----- Family Dollar (5 pack from Vietnam) probably DORCO
---- Kroger (10 pack from USA & 10 pack from Israel) probably Personna
---- Dollar General (5 pack from South Korea) probably DORCO
** By the way stoff2010 nice collection as these are all New and Unopened **

The problem with "rebranded" products is there is zero guarantee that your next purchase will be from the same manufacturer and of the same quality .

The problem with a "no-name brand" products, like DOREO, is there is no investment in "the brand" thus no incentive in consistency between batches (just shop around for the best deal for the next batch).

Either "rebranded" or "no-name brands" leave a consistency issue (from retail purchase to retail purchase) and therefor I am not interested in investing any time on them. Also a slip of (100) Name-Brand blades can be purchased from on-line vendors for $0.07/blade to $0.35/blade depending on the brand (sometimes even cheaper). I have seen a tuck of 5 blades that retails at a "Dollar" store for <you guessed it> $1 ($0.20/blade), and 10 blade tucks at drug stores for $6 ($0.60 blade).

So on to a different DORCO related question:
I have seen DORCO blades as ST301 and ST300, (and the DORCO Prime as STP300 & STP301) so what is the difference?
I suspect the difference is the ST301 blade is in a Plastic Tuck while the ST300 blade is in a Cardboard Tuck.
On the other hand I have seen the ST301 described on some YouTube shaving channels as the new DORCO Prime or DORCO HQ.

OOPS Hi Guys, just a quick typo/edit to my previous post (slip .vs. sleeve) in the second to last paragraph

So "Also a slip of (100) Name-Brand blades ..." should read "Also a sleeve of ..."

Doreo seemed to me sharper than Dorco.

So maybe the company Doreo is a daughter of Dorco ?

So Guys, I see a lot of comments asking:
"why knockoff DORCO and not a more popular and expensive blade ? "
But in China, DORCO may just be the High-End brand razor-blade. Any thoughts ?

On Aliexpress I keep seeing the strange and mysterious Doreo blades, I would never buy them.
I reviewed the Doalco blades here:
The 2024: 1-Blade, 1-Week, *Daily Shaving Adventure - https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/the-2024-1-blade-1-week-daily-shaving-adventure.647586/post-12528678

I would not be surprised if the Doalco and Doreo blades are the same thing.

This is my review of the genuine article, the Dorco ST300:

Not surprisingly the Dorco is better.

I have some mystery blades that were included with a Merkur Futur clone that I purchased off Amazon. First I am not complaining, because I was buying the razor, which I really like, and the package of blades was just a sweetener.

At first glance it looks like a package of Dorco ST300 blades, and while everything on it is identical to the Dorco packaging, it actually says Doreo. If I do a Google search for "Doreo" very little comes up.

Either these are Dorco blades with the name changed for marketing to a limited geographic region, which I suspect, or it's a counterfeit, which would be dumb, because Dorco blades are allredy inexpensive.

Each blade is wrapped in paper and says made in China under license from SHHXR.COM.

Any thoughts?

After four years it would not make much sense to talk about it,however maybe on Aliexpress they still sell Doreo branded blades and it may ineterest someone here in the forum who uses them.

In another forum I saw a RhinoceRos Swiss XR razor blade, maybe the old models with the number 74 written on the red packaging, behind the paper containing the razor blade is the same shhxr.com site written on the Doreo paper as it appears in this photo.

If anyone owns them and can verify check, I have the new RhinoceRos XR packs ,on my wrapper there is no that site.

I have older RhinoceRos blades. I believe they have the shhxr website. I will have to look later.

Also, I would not recommend visiting that website.

Thanks for the confirmation, so we can understand more about who was producing or have some idea about the manufacturer of the Doreo blades.

I don't know if there are still Doreo blades on Aliexpress or elsewhere.
