dorcousa and pace razors

No idea who is paying for the website to stay up. The only way to purchase or inquire about Dorco products is on Amazon. Dorco - https://www.amazon.com/stores/node/11351293011?_encoding=UTF8&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=DORCO&ref_=bl_dp_s_web_11351293011

Dorco itself is not out of business but they no longer have an office in the US and do not market here.

Only insiders would know why. The timing of this activity is loosely associated with the settlement of a patent infringement lawsuit filed by P&G against Dorco whose terms were not publicly reported.

Last time I googled Dorco USA the Dorco site provided a link to Amazon, who now sells Dorco products. I like the link. It is better organized than trying to find what you want from the regular Amazon site.

Yup, they only sell on Amazon now. Their product lines are weird. Amazon doesnt even sell everything they have and you can only get the twin-blade carts from DSC.

They were in violation of copyright laws. They were forced to stop selling in the USA.

If that were entirely true then they couldn't even sell through Amazon. Nor could Jack Black be marketing Dorco rebranded products. There is something more going on.

Perhaps, perhaps not; we don't know the terms. It's just a civil action. Perhaps the settlement was just that they couldn't sell the products themselves under their own name anymore, or the settlement made it too expensive to do so while paying royalties to P&G. The official seller of Dorco products on Amazon is Power Forward Ventures, which is a little independent marketing agency. Or, of course, the 6- 4- and 2-blade products are still available through Dollar Shave Club. The 7- 5- and 3-blade are also sold under the Bromley name at Kroger and Kroger-owned stores.

The upshot of all this is that Dorco products no longer undercut Gillette's prices by as much as they used to which makes them less price competitive.

They simply moved to amazon. The lawsuit was DSC vs P&G and even if dorco is (was?) the blade supplier of DSC this fact is not related to the lawsuit at all. They just decided to move their us business to amazon for economical reasons. Makes sense since they would focus on an Amazon channel instead of directly selling. Amazon is a beast for easy fulfilment and shipping.

You missed the point dollar was using Dorco blades. The blades were the point of the suit. if They lost the suit then they could not sell blade in the USA. We do not know the terms of the settlement , but it seem that they could not sell direct or thru dollar. The blades are not sold by Amazon the are sold by a very small company in California That distributes through amazon. It is not known how the blades arrive in the USA. P&G owned dollar shave club.

i couldn't find any proof of your claims. I could only see the link where they talk about the settlement between P&G and DSC and so even Dorco is (was?) the supplier of DSC there's no actual link to Dorco closing their USA office. So until we can find an official statement we can only speculate. IMHO they have just moved to amazon since in 2020 it's almost the only way to sell things online.

If you have a Kroger or Kroger-owned grocery that carries Bromley products in the shaving section, that is all Dorco hardware. Their 7-blade cartridge is a Pace 7 and will fit on Dorco handles. They also stock the 5 and 3 blade cartridges.

DSC still offers the 6-, 4-, and 2-blade.

P&G did also sue Dorco, not just DSC. We just know that Dorco shut down their US sales office around the same time the settlement was reached. And it’s not as though that site wasn’t well known and popular. It did very well. Dorco used to frequently discount its products on its own site when it had one. On Amazon they are never discounted.

You don't discount successful and high selling products.
