Anyone here used the 'Dorco super' blades. Single edge for the Cobra razor? they seem a lot cheaper than Feathers even with postage from the US to Blighty. Some guys on a UK Shave forum were saying that they are agood buy, but I used Dorco DE blades and they were quite kakaroo.

Putting a dorco in that razor is like pouring steel reserve into a ferrari's gas tank...

Try an E-bay serch under the term "Dorco super blades 20 pack" and the vendor is purosdave. To the UK is only £16.60. A couple of quid cheaper than feathers here in the UK.

As I dont drink (any more) is steel reserve none too good as a beer? Sounds brilliant.
It's malt liquor that derelicts would buy at a gas station or deli. Dorcos are like drugs. Don't do it..
You're just setting yourself up for a chamber of horrors... If you dropped the cash on one of the best available modern razors, at least feed it kais or feathers...
mine has a steady diet if feathers and Kai's for the money I might try come thing new, although Dorco's scare me.
I just finished my 31st shave with a Feather Pro blade in my Cobra. The blade is shaving as good or better than ever so I am not changing until it gives me a reason. Would be hard for me to buy some other brand when I am getting such performance. I shave with my Cobra 4 days a week and it continues to give me my very best shaves.

spimply WOW. So far the best I've gotten is 10 shaves out of a feather, but my beard is like wire regardless of length. As for the dorco blade, well I deleted them from my watch list.

IF I told you I got it for a mere £60 of the bay would you beleive me? It was miss spelt, wrong picture, wrong info etc. All I did was ask PM the vendor a buy it now and we agreed the price. The vendor wasnt sure if it was new or vintage. Even got four blade for the money.

I have had a pack for a while, but had not tried one. I took a blade for a spin this morning and my experience was pretty much identical to the OPs in the referenced thread: BBS, but a tad rougher than my Feathers and Kais. As usual YMMV as might mine on subsequent shaves.
If there is still interest I am willing to turn the remainder of my pack into a Dorco Tour/PIF. I will send the pack, you take two blades for your use, then send the pack on to the next member. The last person will get one blade and can keep the empty dispenser. If interested please contact me and we can get this going.

I tried the Dorco's also and agree it's an ok shave but the longevity of the blades simply isn't there which offsets the cost savings.
