Dopp Bags

Hello all,

I was wondering who makes good Dopp bags these days? I see the some retailers sell nice looking D.R. Harris branded bags. Are there any other brands or manufacturers out there that make nice leather Dopp bags? Thanks for any help.

Sincerely, thank you for the link. That helps me out somewhat. I saw that someone was selling a Bosca Dopp bag. Does anyone know anything about that brand?

I have a wallet from them. It is a fine leather. I do not know about their dopp bag, though.

I have a Saddleback on the way, will post a picture when it arrives. Have been using a canvas Eddie Bauer for years.

I just got a Briggs and Riley dopp kit, their Executive Toiletry Kit, though they have several others.

It's a vinyl bag, but like everything from Briggs and Riley, they'll repair any damage or replace your bag at no cost, no matter the cause of said damage. Their warrantee is incredible. Here's a picture.

Spacious and sturdy.

Also, the original Dopp brand is still making bags, though iirc they were bought by Samsonite.

just found a great deal... Fossil dopp kits at Macys.com... normally $40... I think I paid $7.99... I bought extra for Christmas gift. All leather... very nice

I've been looking at the kits from Saddleback Leather. Not inexpensive, but will probably outlive your grandchildren.

Why yes, I think that lineup of kits would be a great start to your collection; You'll be very happy with your purchases. Wait, what was the question again? :001_rolle

The Dopp Co of Chicago has long been out of business and although I do not know the total succession of the company Buxton now owns the name and still produced the "original" Dopp Kit bag in several stlyes and material. The Admiral is leather and the one most like the original and comes with a lifetime guarantee. They run around $60 but you can find them new for less from time to time. Just do a search online and I'm sure you will find them on several sites. I almost purchased one from ebags through ebay for $48 until I found an original Dopp in like new condition with half of the original box (the cover was missing).

If you do go vintage be sure the liner is in good shape.

If you dont mind shelling out a little coin, WCS has some 'D.R. Harris' bags that are actually made by Daines and Hathaway (BullGoose also has these bags but after the discount they are marginally cheaper from WCS). While they are a little pricey, they are amazing quality and the B&B discount (10%) still applies.

I have an original Dopp Kit in belting leather largest size purchased in the early/mid 70s; it is in excellent condition and for sale, If interested PM me and I will try to scan (may be too large for scanner).

The QED linked and pic'd above is also D&H for $99

I am currently debating getting one of these Dopp bags:

The Daines and Hathaway one is cheaper and looks more like what my father's Dopp bag looks like. However, the Bosca is made in the USA and has an innner liner that can be zipped out of the bag for cleaning.

Does anyone have any experiences with these Dopp bags?

Thanks for any help!
