Don't Make this Mistake--Or have you?

I am working my way through a pile of samples, having a wonderful time, when my coffee bean order arrived. So yesterday I was home long enough to roast three batches of beans. Each batch is its own journey through a number of aromas, and I usually enjoy it. The mud room and garage exude the scents for days.
But the Guerlain Vetiver I was wearing then, and the Bois du Portugal today, have a distinct, uhmm, "fresh-roasted coffee" note to them. I guess that I will have to wait a few days until that clears out of my skin to be able to resume my cologne journey again.

What things have any of you done that have nuked/colored your sense of smell?

I find the quality of my sense of smell varies tremendously day to day. Some days I really have trouble discerning individual notes where I am able to every day, but worse, so days some frags seem to have little scent to me, whereas other days they have a lot! This is pretty much scent individualized this last part.

I do not think I have ever put it off to trashing it with something in particular during a particular day, but that may be the problem.

there are days where I can smell very little. And there are days when I can smell far too much, oft while cleaning unpleasant things up at work.

On a similar note, I heed a warning for you all; Pizza and tequila don't mix too good.
