Donjae Razors

No experience on it but definitely an original design . I find the look to be exaggerated but YMMV. Check out his facebook page https://www.facebook.com/DonJae.inc just in case no one chimes in here. Seems some others there are interested also.

I was wondering if this person was part of the shavette competition going on here. But it doesn't look like a parker.

If you do purchase it, post a review!:thumbup1:

Sorry it looks rough to me, Could they stack a few more washers in there where the wedge should be? $95.00 will get you a heck of a razor...

But in the end, whatever trips your trigger, no reason it shouldnt shave just fine, looks similar to most other shavettes that style that are sub $20.00 (minus all the "bling")

Heck get a inexpensive shavette and re-scale it. Not too tough, fun, probably end up with a better razor without the big honkin thumbscrews :thumbup1: and have a lot of money left over

I have a Dovo Shavette, and would really like a feather AC, just haven't found one at the right price point yet. We shall see I suppose.

I'm not naming anybody cause I'm not sure if I'm allowed but in the hobbyist/vendor sub-forum there is a chap who sells CJB and feather rg razors with blades for a lot less than $95.
Heck of a guy to deal with and quick shipping.
He even posted in this thread

Love the look!

However, functionally, the thumbnotch would appear to be waaay too close to the blade to allow for ease of shaving.

I've often thought of trying my hand at a one-off shavtte like that. My hats off to the guy who actually went out and did it!

Looks nice, but way too expensive, IMHO. I would suggest waiting till the shavette competition is over here, then you could possibly score something custom, at a much more reasonable price.

Bil

If you decide you're interested in doing one, please let me know, I would possibly be interested in commissioning one... I love the shave that I get from an actual straight, I just don't have the time to maintain one properly. I have a Dovo Shavette, and have decided that its the next best thing. I would love to have something with a little more pizzaz, possibly something that accepts a personna shavette blade.

I own the basic one with simple white acrylic scales. I think I only paid about 50$. It's a beast!! More blade exposure that the Parker shavette, I'll try to get some pics up later on this thread. It's very solid and has a good amount of weight to it. They're machined (stainless I think), the insides of mine have some marks but you don't see them when you got a blade locked in. The scale hardware is different than the usual. Being that there's no flex to the metal, you need to loosen the top end of the scale to load a blade. The blade is held very secure and the exposure is even. IMHO, well worth the money I paid.
