Does this look like a 2 band brush to you?

The brush is a vulfix 2235. Was wondering if this would be a 2 band brush. I didn't think vulfix made 2 bands. Thanks in advance.

So what does a two band look like? I feel like my Duke Best has "two bands", but I thought this was only for silver tips. Sometimes I'm very confused by the different grades of badger hair. And I feel I've been doing this for a while. :p

Just a note...even 2-band (finest) hair has 3 bands. The main difference is that these hairs have a larger middle band and appear to only have 2 bands when the knot is set.

I have two 2234s - Super and Silvertip which correspond to Simpsons' Best and Super. Last year, I looked at quite a few Vulfix 223x brushes before I bought them. I haven't seen a knot like this. I'm not an expert on Vulfix but if the knot in this 2235 is original, then purchasing a brush from this brand without seeing it first is more unreliable than I thought.

Well I guess that is true. I also have a 2233 and it is fan shaped. I will say I do like the 2235 though.

I have a vintage 375 that looks like 2-band hair but is softer than the silvertip 2234 that I owned. In fact it seems a few of my old English brushes had 2-band knots, but that was before shaving forums and 2-band knots were trendy. Unfortunately all but two of my vintage brushes need or needed new knots as the old ones were shot.

when dry I have noticed that my two band knots are much thicker and hard. hell like boar almost. once that water is absorbed though, it softens up. I let my brushes soak in a plastic cup. then take a shower. Usually the water level drops half way as the water is absorbed into the dense brush.

+1

The Emperor shown below has a 2-band knot. I probably would have called the Vulvix in the OP a 2-band.
