Does taylors of old bond street smell any good?

Hi! i need some help! i am a newbie in the world of wetshaving (still waiting on merkur HD and silvertip to come in) and i am looking to stock up on some good shaving cream. I just bought some T&H cream (limes, and 1805) but i am inquiring on the scent of TOBS (mr. taylor or others) I live in Edmonton, AB and i cant find a good place that sells this stuff (TOBS) I've read only good things about TOBS and I was wondering if there are any members of this community that own TOBS and live in Edmonton, AB, Canada? it would be nice to actually smell this stuff before I take the plunge on the internet!
i appreciate your help, and i love this site, its so helpful, and useful!

Cheers!

You can buy a sample set of all the TOBS line of shave creams from shavingessentials.net, each sample is enough for about 5 shaves. I bought this sample set and don't regret it. It lets you try out all the different scents and find the ones you like.

Hope that helps,

Nathan

Thanx for all the help! U guys are great, It didnt even occur to me to try samples! that's great! I appreciate the help! Once again, this community rules!

Cheers!

As a fellow newbie (a have a little over a month), I must say I have been real happy with TOBS. I got a half used tub of avocado creme from a fellow B&Ber in a starter kit and was very surprised. I HATE avocado, but this creme smelt very good. It make a great lather as well. Just my cents.

Like everyone has said, samples are absolutely the way to go. I was in the same boat as you not too long ago, trying to base my first TOBS purchase off of other B&B members' preferences (check out the thread here). As they say on B&B, with nearly every product you'll find that your experience will be different then someone else (YMMV), so the best piece of advice I got was to sack up, buy a sample of all 11 creams from shavingessentials.net, and find my own favorites.

I'm glad I did, because some of the scents others loved weren't for me at all, and some of the others that I never would've thought to try I ended up loving. The samples from shavingessentials were very generous, at least five shaves worth of each cream. Although his site seems to be down for maintenance still, I emailed John directly and payed $25 even for enough samples to keep anyone occupied for quite some time. The best part was John tossed in several other samples of things I never would have tried and ended up loving.

Welcome to B&B and the never ending quest for the best-stinkin' stuff
