Does anyone wear tie collar bars?

I've got a few new shirts with collars that I think would look good with a tie collar bar. There seems to be a few on eBay so I'm going to pick a couple up. I was wondering if anyone else wears tie collar bars and if so, what they think of them.

I used when I had shirts made with the pin holes in the collar for a clasp type collar bar. I think they're very elegant and very much liked the look. Very polished. But they're currently not seen much and could come off a bit stilted. I think it may be considered a bit of trend from the 80s, though I think they date back to the 20s. I used to often see ready made shirts with the eyelets for a collar pin, but haven't seen one in years. Here in Los Angeles, they would really stand out as "out" among the "fashion" crowd. They also obviously won't work with the spread collars that are mostly what shirt makers are pushing these days.

Not sure if a clasp type collar bar would come off similar to clip on braces.
