I know both alcohol after shaves and alum are anti septic, close pores, etc. So is it one or the other or both if they do different things. I know aftershaves are scented but besides that. Thanks.
Does alum do the same thing as alcohol aftershave?

I personally use alum block and after a cold water rinse I use some aftershave balm...I dont really like alcohol based products.
And yes..they do serve the exact same purpose,alum is the world's oldest aftershave...some say the Egyptian were the first using it.
