Does a razor stay cleaner using shaving cream compared to shaving soap?

It's all about the water
At home we have hard water and I need to vlean razor every week, it doesent matter is I use cream or soap
But on board the ship, our water that comes from evaporatour is destilled water, and not only it proveds rich creamy lather, but my brush and razor are super clean, here I only clean those wax glue blobs that some blades have, soap/cream reside doesen't exist

Compromised plating and causing more damage. Depending on how you place it the rubbing action can leave marks on the plating too (I use a plastic bag so it isn’t directly metal on metal). I’ve seen a beat up Milord loose a tiny bit more gold and others see it with the older gold plating. I limit the time to 4-6 minutes but my unit is slightly more intense than an eye glasses one.

Mine has a plastic basket. I use to have a very good one (lab grade equipment) and I'd use old pill bottles to keep parts separated and out of metal on metal harms way.
