Do You Run Into Strangers Wearing "Classic" Aftershaves?

I was out to dinner with colleagues tonight and got a strong wiff of Pinaud Clubman every time the bus boy went by. Really caught me off guard. I asked him what he was wearing and he did not speak English, but I later showed him a pic of Clubman on my phone and he nodded saying "si." I get our quite a bit and work in very diverse circles and this is the first time I've smelled a classic aftershave like Clubman, a bay rum, Old Spice, etc that I can recall.

Does anybody else commonly run into others wearing the classics?

Fellow I used to work with wore English Leather everyday. I would sport the Spice. We would have a little contest fishing for compliments. Good fun. I guess he was a stranger the first day we met.

Not often. When I smell someones scent in normal interaction, the only thing I can think is "this person has WAY too much cologne/perfume/AS on." Since I am not hugging them, I don't think I should smell them.

That bus boy probably went home and held his Clubman bottle and thought of you. Universe works in mysterious ways. Kudos to you for having the courage to ask him!

Most of the Japanese guys in my office use varities of Lucido. I swear one of the guys is using stetson, but it must be my imagination.

As an ambulance guy I meet many folk every day. I do some times pick up guy who wear what I would call classic AS. I've come across many bay rum guys, Tabac, sandalwood and the occasional vetiever scent. I sometimes mention it to the patient if the situation allows. My work colleagues often say "how do you know that".

Don't know, one shouldn't be able to tell what aftershave someone else is wearing unless you get into their personal space. That and I work in a "scent reduced environment" so there's not much other than wet smoker to smell.

Same for me, I am probably the only one in the office here that does. I have not smelled it one anyone else but I would not hesitate to ask if I did. My barber down the street from my house introduced me to Clubman and "the veg"(which I have not tried since I can't get past the out of the bottle cat urine smell) For wet smoker smell perhaps Special Reserve would blend in better? I am wearing it today to so it's funny I saw this post.

Caught a very strong whiff of Barbasol Pacific rush on a guy in our building. I could take or leave the scent. On him, it literally stinks!

Security guard in an elevator today had on waaaaaaaay too much Brut. But it seems most guys who wear Brut don't know their limit...
