soaps. good ones tend to last me much longer. that is the only reason. i mean aqua di parma is awesome for $100 but it lasts a month. another interesting thing is i find very cheap soaps last longer than triple milled ones. the better ones are well, better though.

I started as a cream guy but once I started face lathering I went over to soaps, much easier to go straight to the face with soap. Plus like rassage said they last so much longer. Once I tried MWF, creams were a thing of the past. All I own is an old tube of proraso that I use once in a blue moon.

Soaps so far, I face lather and shave in the shower, soaps seem to hold up better in the shower. Creams seem to get thin on the third pass. I just bought some tobs lemon lime thinking if I bought some good stuff it might be different but no. So soaps it is.

I prefer soap because it seems to work better for my skin: I haven't tried that many creams but the ones that I have tried (Palmolive, Nivea, Florena, Proraso) seemed to be a bit more aggressive and irritating to me than a good soap. If I use a cream, I tend to get some minor razor burn on the neck that I don't (usually) get with a soap.

I like both to be honest, I mostly use creams but I can't go a week without taking out my MWF and boar brush to mix things up a bit.

Tried many creams, thought they were fine, tried Arko, good lather, smelled like a public toilet, tried Mikes natural soap..stopped trying anymore and have no soap or cream acquisition desires, at all. It's a SAD killer.

I'm definitely a soaper. I started out sing creams, but after trying MWF and Harris, I was a convert.

Long live soaps!

I'm in the minority of those preferring cream. I build lather in my hands and shave in the shower because I just can't get the best shave with even the thickest of brush lathers. Whatever goes on my face needs to be only slightly built up in volume, and very heavy and dense. I still use soap every once in a while, but it's rare. I actually used to use shave jelly for the longest time, but I decided that I didn't want to get used to the slight lip-numbing sensation.

I am with the majority here, I love my soaps because they last longer and I can use the leftover lather to wash the rest of my face. Though a good cream wIth a soft brush is always nice as well.

I prefer creams. They are more user friendly, tend to have more scent and they don't last forever like soaps to where you are tired of them and can't wait to finish the bar.
