Do You Have A Great Idea for Fun In The Nib

Any ideas for some fun things we can do together in the Nib ?, weve got some really cool things in the past this way just wondering who else out there has some thoughts of some games we could play, or other enhancements to the on goings of the Nib ?

The Pen pal thing we have a group for, I was thinking of a pen kit for travelling with a note pad, ink samples and a beginner pen of sorts, but I don't have a pen to do that with at the moment

how bout a Lamy Safari? I've got a blue cartridge in it, but also have 3 black unused cartridges, as well as 1 more blue. I'd put it out there for the cause.

How bout a monthly FP artwork contest? Similar to the darkrooms photo contest. Monthy art with a theme?

Ink sample pass around?

Take a sample or two and then add an equal or greater number of samples to the pack and pass it on.

I like the artwork idea.
I'm pretty bad, so stick figures might be an improvement on my stuff.

Fridays are Fishtastic!
We teach a bear and a monkey how to ride bikes then let them race. Oh wait, the Chinese already did that  Sorry, I just saw that video the other day (google "bear eats monkey after bike race") and am still laughing about it. Not the monkey getting eaten part, the bear riding a bike part.

All great stuff, Totaly glad I thought of these ideas lol, Ill talk them over with Doug, and Andrew and see what the guys think of them

The Themed Artwork thread may be something to look into, maybe not just limited to drawing though

can do a themed text type thread where you can flourish and draw around a topic each month so anyone who can write can enter

Lol well now a junker june thread celebrating the most creative way to test a pens durability sounds like fun

I am not a contributor to the nib forum (although it is one of my favorite sections of B&B) but what about a monthly or bi-monthly or annual train a noob or get hooked on nibs thread. Where members/vendors maybe donate inks, paper and maybe even pens. Than make a contest post for people who are curious or just starting out with calligraphy and writing in general to be potential "trainees". A winner will be picked and sent the products to get them started learning.

The "trainee" will be given instructions on using and caring for the products. Than given assignments to learn and practice writing. The "trainee" will make posts or reply to an already stickied post on their progress and for getting questions answered. So the "trainee" will need to be able to make posts with pictures showing his progress. The more learned writers can comment, help and encourage the "trainee".

I know there are a ton of options for pens, nibs and inks. But I think the collective minds of the B&B Nib forum could come up with some equipment that is good to learn on without giving too many problems.

I like the pen loan program idea. I have a 78g that I be willing to lend out to folks.

One reason I got into FPs is to help improve my handwriting (still working on that part). What about some form of handwriting/calligraphy help? Not sure what form this would take, maybe tips, worksheets, etc.

I have a Calligraphy thread, you can pop in there i can help you buy gear and how to use it with the other guys in the thread

as for the pen loan, there is always a chance you wont get them back, if your willing to risk that we can try that one
