Do you have a backup for your favorite razor?

Just a question out of the blue. I just wondered how many people have a double for their favorite shaver.

I did. However, I kind of felt bad that it wasn't getting use so I gifted it to a friend. I have gotten to the point where I'm trying to save space, so I've been trying to get rid of things I seldom use.

I certainly do. Given what I know about this forum and the people on it, I'm guessing that a more appropriate question would be how many back-ups do we have. Or how many people habitually use just one razor.

In fact, I have a few razors that I switch between, including switching (sometimes in the same shave) between DE and SE.

No backups, the razors I have right now are still around because they are my desert island razors, any one of them would suffice if they were my one and only.

Favorite razor here is Weber DLC, I own 1 backup DLC, 1 ARC, and 1 Polished. Total - 4 Webers, and all of them really shave the same. I think I'm good.

I only have one of each model of razor, currently. No backups of them, and I can't really see a need at this point for a backup of any model, really... the one exception being my Merkur 11c, which has been out of production for a while now, and are sort of rare to find already. If I bumped into one of those for a reasonable price, I'd grab it to stash so I have on in case mine goes South.

No, my favorite DE is my Progress. I only have one. I also like the Sensor Excel and I may pick up a second handle just because they are so inexpensive.

Yea I guess I have a backup for each razor! I don't have a true favorite because I have 5-6 that get pretty steady use in rotation. So, each one has a backup on deck.

Uh, maybe? Do I have to declare? I don't want SWMBO to really know how many razors I have. Let's just say that I can use a different razor every day of the week and a few more razors would feel left out. And that's all I have to say about that.

The Fatip has become a favorite so I did buy a 2nd one....it was on sale though and as SWMBO likes to say "you have to spend money to save money".

I don't understand the need for a back-up. If one of my favorites were to break, I would order a replacement on line and would have it in two days. Why spend the money now for a razor that I may never need?

I usually only get backups of an open comb. Once dropped, that is usually not good. I would like to get a much more minty version of an Aristo Jr daily driver I frequently use that is a safety bar, but basically just for the display case.

Nope, I have too many good razors to go around that if I did loose one I would be ok until the next purchase.

I did at one time. I sold it.
The only razor I don't want to sell is my Fat Boy for nostalgic reasons.

For straights I only have one that I use (that's considered shave ready) and one strop.

Not if it's a rare and expensive vintage razor.

R41 2011 model.. you can't buy it now if you want to.
One day I was shaving with it and got an anxiety attack, posted a WTT on bst and traded for a R41 head, so now I have a backup and kind of glad I did what I did in hindsight.
