What's new

Do you find yourself wanting your shave to last longer?

So I started getting up a little earlier for my new shaving method--prepping my face and shaving.

So now I find myself standing in the shower post shave(have always showered last for 30+ years) --rinsing off the soap and all--wishing the shave would last longer--getting so good with the DE-my shave is done in no time.

Kinda like all revved up with no place to go.

This is one of the reasons I shave in the evening. I started shaving in the evening so I could take it slow and easy to make sure my technique was good. Now I continue because it lets me enjoy the shave. That's such a weird phrase, "enjoy the shave." I know everyone can't shave in the evening but it's a possibility.

Longer shaves, shaving 3 times a day. Many of us here have those dreams.

My wife always smiles at me when I say on a Sunday morning, "I'm off for a shower & a SHAVE.
She knows it'll be awhile before I'm back :biggrin1:

Or her somewhat sarcasm-laden "You feel like watching a movie after the kids are asleep or are you gonna shave tonight"

Most men probably skip shaving on Sundays or sigh & walk in the shower, muttering about those pesky whiskers that never stops growing...

Bottom line is, you are among friends here.

I agree with MacBraun, shaving in the evening does allow you to take some extra time. Personally I like listening to Coast to Coast am while enjoying a good single malt or cold beer when I shave in the evening.

Somewhat in the same vein, I find myself wanting to shave myself again, especially right after I do my browsing here.

I might have an addiction.

I can tell you how bad it was for me this moring. I was taking my time shaving...getting it just right and taking my time. The whole time my wife was waiting to get in the bathroom to throw up since she got sick. Bottom line - this obsession can cause problems at times!!!

Yeah... time doesn't allow me to drag it out during the week. Weekends are another story! And, I have been shaving at night too, just because I can. Yeah, I am hooked badly...

It's the other stuff that goes with it too. About two months ago I asked why anyone needed more than one good brush. I have three already and just bought a fourth this weekend from the "Mall". I must have 10 soaps and creams (just bought Taylor of Bond Street. Great!) and at least 5 different blades. Shaving for me has become a ritual of sorts. I get out my mixing bowl and place hot water and brush in before the shower and the hard part of deciding which one to use today. I love it!
