Do blades last longer in the slant?

I'm guessing since its slicing hair instead of chopping, the blades should last longer than in a regular DE. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

My thoughts,

"wow these blades turn rusty before they get dull.. I need a new blade, my tetanus is out of date..."

They're not that expensive. Change your blade at least once a week.

its not a question of expense or not changing blades, just a thought. I haven't used my slant for a full week yet so I have no idea, but I do notice the shaves are different and the razor cuts quite effortlessly so I was wondering if there was an effect on blade life as well.

I can say that it does turn some blades that I did not like into good performers .
As for the blade lasting longer - I did not get that from my use with the slant .

I don't notice any difference.
