Dirty bird travel scuttle

Hi ive thought of getting a scuttle for a while but never wanted to buy a big one, earlier i saw this one and was wondering if anyone has any experience it sounds like the perfect scuttle for me but would like some input from those who have used it. Also especially if anyone has traveled with one i dont think i could for fear of breaking it

I don't think ceramic scuttles or bowls lend themselves to travel.

it is small, basically a brush scuttle. I had one and sold it. Come to think of it, I think the person that bought it sold it too.

It just didn't work for my brushes. either too shallow or too small diameter, it was an odd bird

for travel, i use this and face lather.

I scuttle to place your brushes in between passes to keep it warm. It's thinner and taller than lathering scuttles.

all my brushes can be seen in my profile, but for travel I only use the Simpson Case. i use the mug for soaking, storing between passes and refreshing the lather.

Oh alrigt didny know I could check there I was just curious about knot sizes so you would have kept it if it had worked with your brushes?

I would not have kept it. to me, it was not a well designed scuttle.

Alright to keep it on the smaller side what do you think could've been improved? I ask cause I was thinking that maybe making the opening. 3 3/4 inches and the depth 2 inches and putting a small handle on it would help? Not sure though this mainly me just guessing. I'm considering contacting julie at dirty birds to see if she could do this custom for me.

* The scuttle that you are referring to would work best to keep your brush warm after face-latheirng, in my opinion. It was designed as a travel scuttle for limited space for those who like to bowl lather and it is quite small to really build a lather, by usual standards, but YMMV. Good luck.

Not sure on your measurements. take a look here, this is the DB scuttle you want, it's a custom

I just measured the bowl I use for whipping up lather and it is the exact dimensions of the travel scuttle. I surprised that most guys want a larger bowl.
