Dirty Bird has Landed!

Just received my Dirty Bird Scuttle. I went with a black exterior and a spice interior. I originally wanted black and cream (think Guinness) but Sue did not have a cream glaze. However I do like what arrived. I will post better pics and a brief review later, but for now a iphone photo will do.

It is possible she did not have the color. These are special glazes that fire at a lower temperature, so the color choices may be more limited. Also it is high season for for her I would imagine. I would take another look at her "stock" glazes, as the photos on her website do not seem to do the colors justice.

I really like that color scheme! How do you like the scuttle overall? I've got an older green 1.5, and it's the nicest piece of shaving gear I own (apologies to Ambrose ).

It is my Christmas present, but I could not wait to try it. So a quick review. I filled it with hot water in the exterior to warm it up, then I let my brush soak in it. I then added hot water to the interior from my Keurig. I then went outside to my shower on a 39 degree day. I took my normal shower and then made my Tabac-Proraso mix. The cream stayed very warm for a three pass plus touch up shave. So I feel that although this was a more extreme test than most would use, the DB passed with flying colors. I shower shave so the addition of a dribble port is not needed, I just let the spray off my body add to the bowl when needed. I could not imagine needing a larger size, as it is fairly heavy to manuever, and I had plenty of cream to last multiple passes.
