Dirt cheap wet shaving

Cheapest *enjoyable* shaves (CAD$):

Vintage Tech - ~$20
VIG Two-band badger - $25 shipped (Omega boars can be had for $8)
Nacets - ~$0.15 each
Proraso Red tub - $6.25 (or Nivea cream for ~$3 on sale)
Nivea or Pacific balm - ~$6-8 on sale

All available locally aside from the blades (and brush...but the Omega is local).

Okay, how about this "set-up"?

Palmolive hand soap, my wife's BIC leg-shaver and tap water.

Razor: Feather Popular ($10 on Amazon Prime.)
Brush: Turkish #6 brush (PIF'd to me.)
Blade: SuperMax Titanium (less than $17 for 100 blades.)
Cream: Godrej Menthol Mist ($4 or so at Patel Brothers.)
Aftershave: Witch Hazel from the drug store. ($5.)

Today’s cheap as I can get a good shave... shave:

New LC: free, found in a drawer.
Astra SP: $0.09 when I bought em.
Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap: cheap for the amount I used. pennies or less.

face lathered by hand in the shower.

It could be very cheap of you wish so and buy from a certain rather large online retailer.. Example:

* Wilkinson Classic plastic DE razor + 5 blades: 2,66 euro.

* Palmolive Classic shaving cream: 0,93 eurocent.

* Wilkinson boar brush: 11,83 euro.

* Old Spice Original ASL: 4,86

That's a complete shaving set for just over 20 euro!

Wanting for wisdom
Canadian prices.

Merkur 38C razor probably $60 bucks 12 years ago so . . . 5 bucks a year
B&B Essential Boar brush . . . around the same era . . let's say 3 bucks a year
Feather (yep expensive blades) . . . let's say I use 100 a year .. . . 33 bucks
Arko stick . . . 14 bucks a dozen . . . maybe 3 bucks worth a year
Aqua Velva . . . kinda optional but maybe 20 bucks a year

So . . . 64 bucks a year . . . . I shave every day so 18 cents a day. Yeah right. I make up for it on other stuff.

Canadian Pre war tech 5 loonies
Arko shave stick 3 loonies
Skin Bracer after shave 3 loonies
Semogue 610 17 loonies?
So that’s 28 dollars Canadian not too shabby.

i find that some of the cheaper stuff is pretty good..not just in shaving...my proraso omega brush whips up a half decent lather and was only $30.. i find palmolive lather shave half decent $2 a tube and its everywhere...cant comment on strops yet...for aftershave i find i can make my own for cheap a bit of vodka some lime essential oil and thats that (cheap as chips as it makes many bottles and lime essential oil is like $7-10 a bottle)...cant comment for razors as i havnt tried the vintage ones or many cheapies yet.

I am wondering with this setup, if you should also post your face shot to see the quality of shave and skin care:)
The quotation marks in the "set-up" were meant to suggest this was a joke. Sadly, many didn't get it.

So, NO - this is not my set-up, I don't shave with a bath soap and disposable lady's BIC 😂 😂 😂

My way of being economical in shaving is not RAD-buying a department-store-envying quantities of supplies that'd last me for 30 years of shaves. I limit myself to not having more than 2-3 soaps and 1-2 creams at any given time. I have 1 SR (Koraat), Feather AC SS "shavette and 2 DEs - Feather AS-D2 and Muhle R41, with R89 spare head. So, I buy expensive gear, but I don't buy for the sake of always trying smth. new. I've got what works for me and am happy with that, not looking to expend any time soon.
