I notice that the later super speed adjustable's have a different back on the heads. Like the 1960's have a different back than the earlier models. There made different, and you could clearly see. I own a couple early models, but I may have a good chance of getting a good deal on an adjustable from the later period mentioned, without knowing the difference. Is there a good, bad difference between the razors, designs?

I would say all three (Fatboy, Slim Adjustable, and Super Adjustable) are all great razors that will provide you with years of great shaves.

I have shaved quite a bit with both a Slim Adjustable, and a Super Adjustable. I would give a slight edge to the Super Adjustable, as it seems to provide slightly smoother shaves.

I am using a Fatboy right now, before that a Super Adjustable and next in my rotation is a Slim. Maybe I haven't been a this long enough but I don't see much difference in the shaves. I had an easier time shaving under my nose with the Super Adjustable but other than that DFS-BBS is achievable with any of them in my opinion.

I find the character and feel of the Fatboy, Slim and Super to be different. The lower profile head and lighter weight of the Slim versus the Fatboy make it easier to go around the nose area. To me it feels better but the shave is about the same given the same adjustable number. The black handled Super adjustable is a smoother shave but I believe it is about 1 click less aggressive then the other two. Of the three I like the Slim the best.

I find the Slim gives the most comfortable shave, followed closely by the Super, which I also like. These two seem to be the pinnacle of Gillette adjustables to me. I'll bring out the FB once in a while and shave with it - it is a quality piece of machinery - but it provides me nowhere near the shave that the other two do.

Fatboy and slim over the black adjustable, seem a closer and smoother shave.

All three feel a little different in your hands but I don't notice the shaves being much different. YMMV.
