Differences between my two Gibbs 15

A week ago arrived my second Gibbs 15 and I've tried to see if the parts are the same like on my other Gibbs 15. It turned out that there are some small differences here and there. In order to make things much clear and easier to understand as well as repeating myself over and over again, I will refer to my newer Gibbs as A and the older one as B.

The first thing that I've noticed was the lenght of the hollow plastic handles. The A handle seems to be slightly taller compared to the B handle.

The bottom plates are also slightly different. The hole on side A seems to be a bit larger in diameter.

The springs are also slightly different. The spring on side A is the original spring and it's seems to be slightly thinner.
The other thing that I've noticed is that the spring of side A takes some effort to squeeze inside the bottom part of side A, but it's impossible to fit it into the bottom plate of side B.

Another interesting difference is the bottom try plates. The most notable difference is the hexagon hole shape of side B compared to the round one of side A. The other difference here is the cut out holes where the blades sits. The hones on side A seems to be slightly higher while on side B they seems to be slightly wider. I was given a couple of plastic parts to fit them into those holes so they can hold the blade a bit more secure and while they fit on in the holes of side B, they don't fit on side A at all.

And finally, the adjustment rings. The knurling pattern is different, but both fit perfectly on both bottom try plates the same way and the inside thread pattern seems to be the same as well.

I hope that information comes to of use to anyone who's interested in these razors, although I think those who are into Gibbs razors a lot longer than me would probably already know all of this.

I figured some stuff out this weekend...
I have 2 No.15s I got in a collection, both worked perfectly until I ran all the parts through my ultrasonic machine.
After reassembly neither adjusted close to properly. One tri-plate wouldn't even come close to fitting in the one baseplate, it was too large a diameter.
Like a Mr. Potato Head I was trial and error switching parts to get one working which I did... the other was still no Bueno!
I discovered the adjustment dials were the issue then, as swapping them between the two razors worked.
I believe the depth of the recess that drops over the plastic handle is different between the two.
I know you show above clear differences between the plates above, with a round hole on one, hexagonal on the other... mine were both hexagonal yet one was still too big for the baseplate!
Finally, one has a black bottom knob, the other silver, and on one the "N" position is centered, the other on the side... that is considered normal either way as it's a machined piece and not an assembly issue.

Finicky little buggers! Keeping one, selling the other!

The first one I've got (B) also has the N on the adjustment on the side, while the new one (A) seems to be centered.
The new one also came with an usual adjustlent ring, which at first I thought that it was from an after market, but then I was told that it's in fact an original part, but they are not quite as common. There's also a similarly knurled bottom part of the handle, which is also not very common.

Great observations on your Gibbs razors, your might need a digital Vernier for measuring if your curious on exact diameters and lengths.

Always happy to see a new Gibbs thread! I haven’t yet came across a razor that fascinates me more. And if I ever will, I won’t admit it because I’m the self-proclaimed knight of the Gibbsland, crusader of the Adjustables Order, my red stone magic ring opens the vision slot of my brass/chrome plated holy helmet from 1 to 6 and when not at war, I shave on a horseback.😂
