Difference between Semogue badger and "HD" badger knots

I'm curious as to what advantages the regular Semogue badger knot might have over their "high-density" badger knot and vice-versa. Apart from the difference in price, I'd appreciate any comments folks could make as to why one would be preferable to the other.

The non-HD badger knots are obviously less dense, and have less backbone. I don't see much advantage to the non-HD Semogue badgers, other than the lower price.
My have one of each and I prefer the HD. Flow-through is not an issue and the HD is better suited for face lathering.
