Did you ever buy a brush...

Antique Hoosier

“Aircooled”
...based mostly on the aesthetic appeal of the handle? :blushing:

Yes at least twice. Once a Pre Vulfix Simpson Polo 8 in Best. Great brush but I sold it. before that a Pre Vulfix Simpson Tulip 4 and sold it as well. Would love to have the Tulip back. The old Simpson brushes have the very best "handle appeal" IMO.

I've also bought brushes with handles that I hated.

The B&B Essential, for example. I don't like that frosted acrylic look, but that doesn't detract one iota from its superb performance.

The shape of the handle is great. I love the ergonomics of it. Its just that see-through acrylic look I can't get on board with.

Yep, the B&B LE '08. I have also bought a Rooney Finest based on the aesthetic appeal of the hair.

i haven't bought a brush based on handle looks, but i think i am not selling my Rooney 2/1 because it's my favorite handle... sort of the same thing

Jeremy, what do you think of the 1/1 finest?

I recently gave away an inexpensive mixed-badger brush to a friend who was interested in making his own lather, and I was kinda halfway looking for a replacement. Yeah, that's the ticket.

After buying a Rooney 1/1, I wanted another Rooney. I was planning to get a Stubby 2, but then I saw the Emillion.

I almost bought the B&B Essential just for the handle. However the added cost of shipping to Canada wasn't worth it.

I really like the look of the Rooney Beehive. I wish one would show up on the BST.

The knots on these two brushes were the driving force when I purchased them, but the fact that I could choose the handle shape and color were major benefits. These are probably my favorite two brushes, and both these handles are very comfortable to use. I'm enamored with the colors and patterns. I'll have to admit that the blue-handled brush with the Finest knot was created first, so I could compare Finest to D01 hair and second, so I could get that handle shape in blue.

Try this. :w00t:

I don't own it, didn't buy it, but I would if I could. This is one of the most beautiful brushes that DrP owns. Real Ivory handle, re-knotted by Bearnd. Just lovely.

That is very attractive, indeed!

That blue handle is very fine--a great looking brush!

I bought an Emillion because I liked the shape of the handle. Same for my Stubby 2. The handles looked really comfortable and very classy. They are.

The brush ain't bad either.

I got one of the Semoques recently from Leon. I just wanted a nice clear acrylic handle.

That's funny, I've been looking at the Semogue 750 with the same idea. Here's the pic from shavingessentials.net:

I don't know why I'm so attracted to red-handled brushes.
