Anyway, did my first straight shave today, on myself. Only one cut, was my fault got a bit cocky, but at least with the sharpness of the razor I did not feel the pain of the cut. Did a pretty good job too. Hope my wife can't notice the cut

Good work. What straight razor did you use and how did you prep?

Used a Dovo with the fake mother of pearl handle, carbon steel blade. Showered, AOS Sandalwood oil and then cream with a Fine Badger brush. Worked up a thick and warm lather in a metal mixing bowl. After contorting myself trying to figure out how I was supposed to see my face through my hands I started. It actually went well
Finished with AOS Sandalwood balm. I have my C&E Sienna coming next week.
