Last two shaves with the Voskhod were really excellent.

Wilkinson soap is at the 25 mark, so time to change. Back to Proraso Red. Feels different when loading the brush, so I'll have to get used to it again (for 6 shaves)

Voskhod, 6th shave, Proraso red soap & AS.
I had a look at the Voskhod blade and it wasn't nice. On the bottom, soap was clinging to the blade in a way I couldn't remove it with just piping hot water. And on the paper cover, it clearly says: do not wipe the blade. So I'll change the blade after this shave. Whick wasn't ideal either.
Tomorrow yet another blade that's new for me: the Gillette Platinum. Current blade preference:
1. Gillette 7o'clock green
2. Tie (shootout needed) Astra SP and Voskhod.
3. The rest
x. Shark SS

If you wanted to try a little rebelliousness, you could try palm stropping the blade instead and see what happens. I promise not to turn you in.

Gillette Platinum (2nd), Proraso red soap & AS.
The Gillette Platinum does a good job for me. But to be honest, it feels very much like the Gillette 7o'clock green. And that brings more of a smile to my face.

2 small red dots on my chin today. Usually I do 2 passes (WTG/ATG) exept for the upper lip (only one pass). Today I did my regular two passes + an XTG on the upper lip. Better result but also a small red dot.

2 passes, oké shave.

The Proraso red combo reached the 25th shave, so starting from tomorrow, I finally return to a Tabac/Tabac series

2 passes, smooth shave but rather unpleasant, with lots of irritation on the chin/neck. Think I'd better ditch the blade.

Gillette 7o'clock SE (yellow) (1st), Tabac soap, Nivea sensitive balm.


2 passes, smooth shave. First shave with Gillette SE. The blade feels very present. Like making me aware all the time that I'm handling a very sharp tool on a very soft piece of meat. Yet not the slightest red dot or cut.
The irritation of yesterdays shave isn't gone yet.
