Diamond Slurry?

Can I raise a slurry on my DMTs by rubbing two DMTs together? Would I get the bigger diamonds in the slurry or the smaller ones?

Don't do that.... I can't imagine it would good.

I tried honing many razors with a diamond slurry (on a spydeco). Don't waste your time.

It sounds like an uncontrolled slurry as you have no idea how the slurry will form. I believe when you buy it, its already sifted.

Diamonds on DMT is thin surface layer. When diamonds are off, the DMT is useless. If you want to use diamond slurry, you need diamond pastes or sprays.

Water stones are grit embedded in a matrix all the way through.

DMTs are great for flattening and cleaning water
stones.

It is April 1st already!?

If you want to hone on diamond slurry, just take an unloved C12k and smear a little diamond paste on it. Or lap an aluminum plate nice and flat, and apply diamond paste or slurry to that. Glass? Wood? I know... how about BALSA! Well to be fair, you would most likely be stropping on balsa, since it is so difficult to go edge-leading without slicing into balsa.

What if i rub the diamond side of one on the back flat metal side of the other, will that raise a metal slurry I can use to hone?

Oh, see, that depends on what kind of metal your DMT is backed with! Steel has coticule garnets imbedded in a matrix that only a really expensive DMT can release :001_rolle
