I use the red, 600 grit, to raise base stone slurry on japanese natural stones IF i want to use aggressive base stone slurry only; it's not common for me to do this now but did frequently in the past.
I find anything above 600 grit in DMT products get worn out very very fast on japanese natural stones as seen by the removal of the nickel bonding.

Exactly what I was looking for. Tomo exclusively for me now, but just want to experiment.
I haven't used it but people really seem to enjoy the atoma 1200 as well.
