VERY SAD DAY.....:surrender:

hopefully if we email them on specific orders they will ship to CAD and other, but as it stands, they are only CONUS now.

I wanted to order some Bath Bars, but was having trouble getting a shipping estimate, now I know why.

INTERNATIONAL

Nancy Boy regrets that we no longer offer International shipping due to an unacceptably high level of fraud. If you wish, please contact us via email to discuss your specific needs.

If it doesn't work out and the shipping costs aren't too high for you, I'd be willing to send anything your way.

What's been happening with vendors stopping international dealings or limiting what they send? Is this new or am I catching on to old news?

Thanks Amir....I may email them and ask if they will ship to me in the future, as I have placed a few orders with them and have had no issues or problems. Hopefully they will continue to ship if asked and we don't hold the, accountable for lost orders etc

@Ginger....nope, this is brand new news to me. I placed an order a couple months ago and they shipped to CAD and shipping was very cheap and fast

i guess I should have really stocked up back in Nov/Dec. if I had known this was coming I would have ordered another tub of cream as well as about 6 bath bars

If anybody who is not CONUS needs ANY product that can be legally shipped (so no aftershave splashes) over the border. They can order to my house and I will ship it out for you. Naturally you cover postage.

Well, at least you know that if you ever need something, tons of members here would throw out some help to get it to you. Granted that is a round about way of getting it, but you will still have tons of ways to do so. At times like this, I am glad to be CONUS though, even if I haven't tried their stuff. ^_^

And I have to agree with the name thing. Honestly, I immediately thought of Nancy Drew novels and it took me a few seconds to realize what the issue was (Mystery novel haters? Nah, who could be like that?). But I am thinking, surely, Rivieraranch is joking. :euro: We are too classy for that here.

well played neilyasno...very generous offer to the B&B members.

yes, I have actually received a few PM's offering to have stuff redirected my way. B&B is a fine community in that sense, everyone looking out for each other, even though 99% of us will never meet or even talk to each other, outside the boundaries of this forum.

as for Rivieraranch's post..I am not so sure. trust me, it's not the first time someone has posted this type of comment saying they will not use NB for the name or the lifestyle choices by the makers and it will surely not be the last. it is everyone's choice to not buy from various vendors and artisans, but if the reason is a political, race, religion or lifestyle case, leave it unposted and don't buy. if the reason is customer service, product or price related, post away.

that is my view on the matter.

I think the name is probably tongue in cheek since their soaps all seem to have flora scents. Challenging the status quo and making us question our own assumptions about why we don't like people named Nancy? Long ago I stopped caring about the packaging of stuff. When I was in high school, and even after, there were mangas I would buy that had pink covers and flowery art on the cover. Many a time I was eyed by the checkout person, but quite frankly it is a cover and the book itself rocked. :p

Now, I wouldn't try Nancy Boy simply because I hate flora scents, always have. So if you don't like flowers, then by all means, but if you are afraid of people looking at you because they went through your bathroom to find evidence of their prejudices against you, that is another matter. ^_^ It isn't like the soap is called something offense like "Girly man, Girly Man, why must you be such a sissy Man." If it was called THAT I might question it, but... as it stands, I don't see an issue.

Btw, Brucered, I have never heard anything but good stuff about this company but I never looked for their website. My brother-in-law thing likes lavender I think, so I might order some for him. Thanks for the site, and hopefully they ship to you since you are a known good customer.

I actually don't find their shave products to be floral, far from it actually.

the signature has a strong mint scent to my nose.
the replenishing has a cucumber scent to it.
the blossom wood I have not tried yet.

pretty sure it's an openly gay couple running it, and they run a fine business, great products and service (current shipping excluded) and even mark their products "Tested on boyfriends, not animals"

so yes, the name is a play on words I guess. If people choose not to buy based on a name, Its their choice. It's just about the dumbest reason not to try something, but so be it.

but don't shy away from trying because you don't like florals. The signature cream scent is like nothing else out there, some love it, some don't. I am in the love it category.

Well, I guess I will try a signature. Shipping is high, but 2-4 day. Thanks for the clarification on the scents.

Ive discussed the shipping cost issue with Brucered. Funny thing, when NB did ship to Canada, it was cheaper than the shipping cost CONUS. That being said, their products are great. You can join the club on their website and get 15% off of all items.

Yeah, Bruce advised me on that. So I joined after, not going to ask them to apply any credit as it was my mistake, but nice to know in the future. If I don't like the scent I ordered, at least I know Canada might enjoy getting some.

Wait, I haven't made a single Canadian joke yet.. hrm, losing my touch. >_< Oh oh, "So, I guess they stopped shipping up there since they figured after sending 20 orders, everyone in Canada already had all their products." There we go, much better. Rest of the world, no idea, but at least Canada I can mock with conviction.

If you email them, they will likely apply the discount to your order.

Seems like an over reaction on their part. I'm not aware of Canada being a hotbed of shipping fraud.

Russia is supposed to be really bad.

I am not aware of high fraud numbers out of Canada either. However, Nigeria and some of the former USSR republics have higher fraud rates and rather than explain why they won't ship there they just adopted the policy not to do business outside the US. Them not wanting to deal with Customs departments may also have something to do with it.

Also, though, keep in mind the significant increase in shipping/mail costs on foreign posts by the USPS which began yesterday (Sunday), the increase is as much as 40%. I happen to enjoy the Nancy Boy products as well as their monthly newsltter, don't always understand references but enjoyable nonetheless!

This makes as much sense as classicshaving wanting a faxed or emailed copy of the buyer’s photo identification (passport, driver’s license or government-issued ID) and copy of the credit card, I don't even think that's legal to do.

If you're having that much of a problem with fraud wouldn't it make more sense to improve your checks being used as opposed to cutting off business to everyone else?
