deruitem's Carbon Fiber shaving brush model CF1

I contacted deruitem a few months back after I had found a Muhle brush made using carbon fiber (CF). I really liked the way the CF looked, and asked deruitem if he could do a handle using the material. This is what he came back with. It's a metallic blue acrylic and CF. It's a gorgeous brush, and since I brought the idea to him, he PIF'd me the prototype. The handle has a 22mm Whipped Dog silvertip. I'm not sure of the loft height, but this is a wonderful little brush. I present the deruitem CF1. Thanks deruitem!

Thanks everyone, it has been fun trying to work with carbon fiber. It also also been a challenge to find some in small qaunity.

Wow. That is a nice brush. I for one, have a Muehle shaving brush, model Silver Tip Fibre ®, high-grade resin horn brown, Medium Size 21 mm. I think it's a fine brush that works for me, but I would like to have a brush, with similar fibre, that has a longer handle.
I am thinking 60-70 mm long handle, or such. It would be great, if this skilled craftsman deruitem, or someone else, could produce and sell such an item. My brush is shown below:

That's using some seriously modern material! very cool idea!
I'm curious, is the overall brush weight light or is the carbon fiber weave wrapped around something to give it some weighted feel?

I won his orange and black brush on auction to support NBCF and love it. Great artistry, and a solidly built brush. I have used it twice now with my scuttle and CF cream and it loads like a champ.

Deruitem's got a 52mm CF2 handle available via the Hobbyist/Vendor forum here on B&B or through his Etsy store. He's a pleasure to work with too. You should ask him if he could custom make one for you. Maybe sketch something up...

Nice work fuzinboston! You landed a gorgeous brush! I actually had deruitem make a brush and razor using that same acrylic for a friend, and was very tempted to keep it, or have him make me one. :) Enjoy!

Thank you all for the interest. I made the brush with a carbon fiber tube. The weight was pretty light and I didn't add a lot of material inside the tube. I could always add weight with some bb's or coins glued inside the tube.

That's pretty neat thanks for that tidbit... other thing, can you feel the weave? or is the handle completely smooth? From the picture it looks like you can see the layers so appears like its textured.. the Carbon fiber used looks very nice quality/finish to it.

This tube you could see the way the resin had almost like brush makes in it. It can be sanded smooth but it take a good amount of time. You can not feel the weave at all. It just like anything else made from carbon fiber like a bike tube.

Thanks deruitem, the CF stuff peaked my interest... i've seen some items, possibly cheap stuff, though it maybe a bad comparison where you can feel the weave so I wasn't sure if that was the same here. Not being able to feel it is good. great concept on a brush!!

Thanks for posting the link - please note that the pictures don't do the brush justice whatsoever. It's incredibly detailed, polished, and just flat out gorgeous.
