1st time in history the winner was disqualified.

So crazy! Not sure how I feel about it. In real time, I saw him swing way wide, but I didn’t think it really affected the outcome. I imagine the stewards made the right call, but first time ever?!

They made the right call. Maximum Security didn't just come out of his lane without getting clear, he bumped and even tangled legs a bit. How it didn't become an enormous disaster is something of a miracle. The only real question was whether the foul should result in a straight disqualification or just moving back places.

As far as the liquid refreshment went, we got into some Four Roses Small Batch and home grown mint (that's Mrs. TL's lovely hand).
