What's new

Definately Williams.

Just had my second shave in as many days with a new puck of Williams. I think it is better than the $15 puck of AOS soap I have. I have been using the AOS for the past couple of months and have been getting som dfs with it. Now with this Williams I can get a one pass near bbs. My wife has even noticed the differance. She is surprised that a $1 soap can do this. It is very slick. The lather has a little to be desired but it makes up for it in the slickness department. And no, I don't try to make a perfect lather every time. I get some on my brush and put it on my face. I do a one pass wtg and a little touch up. And that is it! I even had a 2 shave old feather loaded in my Aristocrat.

I don't know what people mean by saying that Williams is hard to shave with.

If it works for you great. I don't really care for williams. Can't get decent lather and dries to quick for a str8 shave. But then again maybe i'm spoiled with all my creams.

I think some believe we need huge amounts of lather because they learned with canned goo. Use enough water early and Williams is great!
Trouble with living in AZ is it is pretty expensive here, I have to pay $1.57!

I believe my affinity for Williams is fairly well established. In fact, I just scored two more new production pucks, six bits each.

However, since we are talking pucks not the vintage cream (that I've yet to sample, darnit) or the new French cream, does not this worthy thread belong in the soap forum?

It's also a great camping soap, you can shave with it, then wash up with it. The scent after a wash up helps keep the skeeters away!

Editorial note: Luvmysuper is not a Williams hater. Luvmysuper always has a puck of Williams in rotation and thinks it is a great product, and shouldn't be blamed for peoples lack of skill in the lathering department.
Having said that, Luvmysuper will poke fun at stuff he likes as well as stuff he doesn't.
Also, Luvmysuper has an annoying habit of talking about himself in the second person.
