Well, I decided to give the str8 a go tonight. I received my razor from Dpflaum yesterday and just had to give it a try.

Well, I am blood free, so I consider it a complete success for a first attempt. I feel a little irritation, and I did finish with my DE, just to avoid overdoing it.
Now, I will have my razors honed (I actually had 3 show up in the mail the same day
) before I try again, just so that I know that I have eliminated as many variables as possible so I can only blame myself for any troubles in the future 
. And I do think I will want to practice in the offhand for more confidence.
Anyway, down another slope.
