De razor for women

I am working on my shopping list for Christmas. Can anyone recommend an appropriate DE razor for women? I was thinking along the lines of the Futur. Would the Muhle R41 be too aggressive?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Single edge and Injector razors hands down..no "flex" like alot of DE blades do..unless you go with a stiff DE blade like Gillette Blue Extra blades

Get a vintage Slim from the BST here or on ebay. You could get it replated down the road if you would like. The R41 is a beast of an aggressive razor, and the Futur can also be quite aggressive.

+1 My fiance has one, and loves the thing to death. It has a nice long grippy handle and is a mild shave.

Or the Muhle equivalent, yes.

The Jagger head is perfect, but the shorter handle may be an issue around the legs. That's one advantage of the Lady Gillettes, or you can get one of the longer handled Jaggers, like the Chatsworth.

Just a thought to consider.

I bought my wife a Lady Gillette from the BST.

So far I have gotten 5 women to switch with a Lady Gillette. You can find a blue one in nice shape for less than anything new.

I'd say a gillette travel tech is your best bet.

A mild razor with a longer handle seems to be most effective. +1- a Lady Gillette is a fine choice in vintage.

+2 Lady Gillette. I tried shorter handled razors before, then tried long handle Lady G, and found that with shorter handles to reach the legs you end up leaning over uncomfortably. I really like the sharpness of Feathers for a close shave, and Kiss MY Face Shave Cream. Also found that brush lathering creates a nicer lather on the legs than any non brush lathered cream.

I just picked up a Lady Gillette for my GF whose birthday is Hallowe'en. I also saw an interesting thread on Wicked Edge by a woman who swears by her long handled Parker.
