Days of the week etching-restoration?

Hi all!

As some may know I have a nice set of 7, bug during clean up I could not-sandpaper use-make the birds-eye view of the blade shimmer like the rest.

Possibly due to the heavyish tarnish up there, I cautiously gave it a light progression, but it still looks dull, with only the 3 cleaner ones being more or less readable under a flashlight.

3 others have half the letters rather faded even with tarnish remaining on top.

In order:

Sat

Wed(?)

Mon(?)

The last one, I suspect Monday, I was a bit overzealous due to the dirt, and may have scrapped off all/or almost all of it off. :(

Ways to clean/fix up a little most appreciated! 😄

Sorry I can't help you with acid etching. When I put my M7DS's together, I found an experienced engraver. He engraved (not etched) the days of the week on the spines. Engraving was preferred as it cannot be easily worn off. In 2019 it cost me about USD 10 per blade. Here is the quality of the engraving by hand that I had done.

Try and find a firm that makes trophies. They generally have the expertise that you will require.

Thanks @rbscebu!

If it was a custom set-I plan to get one sometime-of course it will be stunningly hand-chiselled :)

But this is old work, as is.

Hopefully someone else has at least a slight fix.

Looks like a candidate for new engraving to me. I don't see any way you're going to bring what was left on the spines back. It's too far gone in my opinion.
Depending on the maker of the razors and how much you are willing to spend. You could have some nice engraving done. If you want close to the original just find some pictures and have them engraved close to the same. That's what I'd do. Good Luck.
