What's new

Date my Schick injector

I think I have an E2, but was hoping an expert could verify.

- Round spring, opens left
- Bakelite handle, no visible seam
- Variable striations on guard bar
- Brass injector
- Gold & red lid on cardboard box
- Razor marked "Schick Injector" not Eversharp

If I am correct, then this razor would date to between 1935-1945.

Am I correct?

My wife frowns on them!

Sorry, I am not ONLY annoying, I ALSO have no knowledge.

Honestly, it's not in the job description for "Ambassador!"

I cant see the spring, but if you say it is a Non-Fixed Spring I will take your word for it. I'd say its an E-2 but I think the E-2 also had a Fixed Spring.
I snag up every one of those I can find at a good price. The Absence of the line/seam on the handle is the main sign I look for.

There is no seam, the round spring rotates counter-clockwise to open the base plate, and there are variable striations on the safety bar, not parallel lines. So, E2?...or E3?

I paid $7 for it.

Your time frame is correct and it is an E. The rotating spring was a feature that only the E1 and early E2 razors had. So first guess would be an E2 due to the round spring. BUT, the grooved safety bar was only on E3 razors and later, all of which had fixed springs. Modified E3?

No parallel grooves in the safety bar, just random texture. I'm thinking E2.

Mine looks like the one on the left.

I really dislike posting from my phone. It corrects stuff I don't want corrected and misses stuff I wish it would've corrected.

Last post should have said:

Thank you.

Fixed.
