lol ... shave with a planer blade??? lol

If you look up Safety Razor on wikipedia and then klick on "Deutsch" in the left column under "languages", you will see that safety razor translates to "Rasierhobel". So "Hobelklinge" is nothing else than a safety razor blade.

So if I were you, I would stuff it into a DE and shave with it! The sooner the better.

yeah i bought these blades while living in DE - they for to a small wood planer and despite the way they're depicted in the pictures are really quite thick - but still -- //// ..... i wonder /.... .. will they cut hair ..... ? ...... .....

Let us know how your shave goes.

I recall a number of years ago a window cleaner said he used to shave with the same brand of blades he scraped paint off of windows.

The very old Gillette razors used a thicker blade than modern razors. These thicker blades may be more suited to one of these older razors. Good Luck

There's the rub. All DE razors flex and bend the blade into position when you load it into the razor. A thicker blade may not flex the same and wind up with the edge in a different position (I suspect a wider blade gap) than a thinner blade would be. That could result in a very aggressive shave.

it was like shaving with a chain saw, lol ... I only tried my side burns - too rough... maybe they weren't flexed enough or maybe just not sharp enough or just way too thick.

but it did technically remove hair ... so in a real bind ... if i had to ..... i'd let it by beard grow out, lol... :yikes:
