Daily Volume of Tea Consumption Poll

My average daily tea consumption is...

  • 0-250 milliliters

  • 250-500 ml

  • 500-1000 ml

  • 1-2 Liters

  • 2-4 L

Estimate the total volume of all types of tea that you consume daily. :thumbup1:

For reference, 250 ml is two sips more than an 8-oz mug.

Two-three large Tervis tumblers worth. Iced, unsweet. Also, it must be Birmingham's own Red Diamond brand brewed by the gallon. Everything else tastes like dirty water.

Just now steeping a pot of elegant Jin Shiuan oolong.

I'm on the cusp between 250-500 and 500+ . I decided to poll on the side of moderation. My studies have been keeping me up later though, and I bet my consumption will be climbing. It's been nice reading Rumi by candle light with a cup of jasmine tea.

Around 3 to 5 cups of Black Tea a day.

Straight with no milk or sugar etc.

Taste great, helps with digestion and gives a nice boost of energy without the jitters.

I don't really measure my tea consumption in volume of the consumed liquid but in mass of the leaves (dry). Between 1 and 2L is my guess though. Between 10 and 15g is a pretty normal day for me.

OK, now you made me actually think about it...
I probably drink about 500ml per hour during a nine hour day at work. Then there is the tea that I drink when I get up in the morning and in the evening...
I may have a drinking problem. :blushing:

I probably average a little over a liter a day. On any given day it can range from 500ml to around 2 liters.

I waffled on whether to use this metric instead. These would be interesting results as well. I'm easily in the 15g/day range as well (the range demonstrated to have positive physiological effects in a recent study, and one of the few using specific mass values as a metric).

Netsurfr, not to worry. The 2-4L range is likely very common on planet earth among daily tea drinkers, as much of the tea-drinking world drinks it all day every day. Your only drinking problem is, "so many teas, so little time", my friend!

I can drink tea till the cows come home, or until my kidneys are throbbing. Ive had so many kidney stones over the years and my Dr. repeatedly tells me to stop drinking tea and only drink water, I cant do it. Evidently tea contains some minerals or something that can cause kidney stones. So much for tea being good for you.:scared:
