Czech Made Gillette Blues?

If you can get them they are fantastic, but as far as I know they are discontinued.
Current production 7 O'clock Blue Super Platinum blades are made in St. Petersburg.

Actually David from razor blades and more told me that the Russian blues have been discontinued. I ordered the Russians and but they sent me the Czech's. That is why I'm asking.

I was not aware of that, very interesting. I actually prefer the Czech made blades over the Russians. To me they are as sharp as the Russians but they feel smoother.

If you'd like a pack of Russians to compare just PM me and I'll send you some.

That's interesting... It was explained to me that the Czech plant was razed (no pun intended) when Gillette bought the brand, and that the St Pete plant has occasionally been tweaking packaging for target markets in an effort to better serve targeted consumers (ie "make it look like a homegrown product for each market", but they are still made in St Pete. My disclaimer is that my source is a woman who lives in north east Moscow, and even though we have been friends for decades, her interest in shaving is purely an effort to entertain me. Still, she does have local news feeds, and no particular axe to grind beyond Russian patriotism.

For me, it would be awesome if there was some business miracle that caused Gillette to return the brand name and packaging to a Czech factory, but I have a bit of a tough time buying it, as Gillette has never been known to be a benevelont master, and considering that they own the most high tech blade plant on the planet in St Pete, and that they spent a Kings ransom on buying up brand names, and shutting down local factories, it would seem to be a backwards move to begin the sunset of global DE blade production in the interest of forcing patented system shaving on the entire globe, while fueling the competition they are trying to kill off along the way....

I hope the news about the return of Gillette blade production to the Czech Republic is correct, but it doesn't make a bit of business sense at all, and certainly doesn't follow the fantastic Gillette business plan that has kept them at top of the shaving sandbox for longer than any of us have been alive. Like Reagan said to the reds during the Cold War.. "Trust, but verify"...

Even in the Czech Republic I can only find Russian made P&G blades that once were made in Prague. Too bad since I liked the Czech blades (Nacet and Astra) a lot better than what comes out of St. Petersburg today.
