Cyril R Salter Shaving Creams

Have anyone used some Cyril R. Salter shaving creams? If so, what can you say about quality, preferences? Thanks.

I've used the Sublime Citrus. It has a very unique grapefruit scent, and it performs extremely well. It lathers up great, and I found it to be very moisturizing as well.

I have French Vetiver in my rotation. Good quality cream and outstanding performance! It creates a slick moisturising lather with minimal efforts.

I have the old tubs of mint and French vetiver and like them both but don't use them a lot. I heard a rumor (who really knows?) that the vetiver has been waterd down a bit these days so I don't know what the current one is really like. The old one is outstanding if you like pure vetiver. The mint is a nice summer one - smells like fresh mint (think old fashioned toothpaste). Both lather as well as any of the top grade creams and provide a decent cushiony shave.

I have the Indian Sandalwood. The scent isn't exactly to my liking, but for occasional use it's fine. Good lubricating and cushioning properties.

I've had a sample size of the Essential Limes, and I now have a full tub of the Sublime Citrus. The scents for both are very natural, not synthetic in any way. They are easy to lather and provide a very slick coating for an easy glide of the blade. Highly recommended.

Salter is a top notch cream (in the same venue as the 3 T's, and Dr. Harris), and their scents are heavenly. :thumbup1:

You really can't go wrong purchasing a tub of these creams.

I think it's a great cream. I have three tubs, wild rose, sandlewood and sublime citrus. I like all three, especially the grapefruit scent of the sublime citrus and I don't even like grapefruit. I get great shaves with Salter creams.

Excellent creams! I'd rank the Mint in my top 3. Very easy to lather, good cushion, and slick. I enjoy the mint fragrance and find it to be mildly cooling as well. It's easily the equal of the 3T's, and I believe, betters them. I've also used the almond, but prefer the Mint.

Love all Cyril Salter creams. I've got the Rose, Mint, Sublime Citrus & Essential Lime. All lather quickly and are moist. All the scents are all a bit odd, but perfectly acceptable. The Rose is my favorite. For the money compared to some other more expensive high end creams, you can't go wrong with Cyril Salter. Highly reccommended!

I have a tub of the Wild Rose, too. I completely agree with all of the positive reviews.

Probably my favorite light rose scent. (And, yes, I know that it cleverly has no rose in it at all!)

Shaved with Fresh Mint about 3 hours ago. Good quality cream & a great scent, definietely worth a try.

Next order of creams I put in will have French Vetiver somewhere on the list :thumbup1:

Cyril R. Salter shaving creams are some of the best. I use tallow based soaps almost exclusively except for having a couple tubs of the Wild Rose and French Vetiver. These are very good soaps as has been said.

I have the old tubs of mint and French vetiver and like them both but don't use them a lot. I heard a rumor (who really knows?) that the vetiver has been waterd down a bit these days so I don't know what the current one is really like. The old one is outstanding if you like pure vetiver. Caution SoapBox comments ahead!
I have about 2-3 snirdles left of the old formula Vetiver and a almost whole tub of the new. There is a huge difference. If you have some of the original and love it, hoard it at all costs! While the new is very good and stands on it's own with great lather and protection, the sent is just not remotely in the same league; and that's sad, it was amazing stuff.
