Custom brush from Bob's Razorworks

This evening I recieved a Bull Mastiff and a custom brush from Bob.

The handle is Bolivian rosewood and the knot is two band fines badger from Golden Nib.

The handle is inspired by this vintage Gillette Brush:

A beautiful and highly ergonomic brush. I am looking very much forward to trying it out, it is my first finest badger.

This is a really nice brush; firm hairs with soft tips, just slightly scritchy.

Glad you like it, shipped on the 10th so 16 days.
The customs barcode numbers are worthless for tracking, even now I enter the number and all I get is that I dropped it off at the post office.

It usually doesn't take that long for a package to get here from the US. But the Danish customs sat on it for ten days before deciding how much I should pay in import tax (read: ransom) to get it.

I have now tried the brush with both soap (Mitchell's Wool Fat) and cream (Musgo Real). The Golden Nib finest badger knot performs great with both.

The handle is very comfortable - this will not be my last brush with this handle shape.

I like the shape too, I've turned 2 other handles with that shape 1 of East Indian Rosewood and another from Afzelia Burl.

Super! I'm a sucker for dark, nicely grained wood. Bocote is one of my favorites, but that rosewood is very nice.

That is a very beautiful brush! I love the handle ergonomics, I too favor longer handles. Someday I'll have to invest in one of these too.

Like Bob indicated I always value my items very low when shipping overseas. It is a bummer to hear some Euro customs charge so much to the recipient. Beautiful brush by the way! I was considering talking to Bob about a 2-band brush, you beat me to it!
